Dropbox Issues with MacOS Monterey 12.3: A Frustrating Experience

As a long-time user of Dropbox, I have always been satisfied with the service. However, my experience with the latest MacOS update (Monterey 12.3) on my MacBook Pro has been nothing short of frustrating. After installing the update, I noticed that fans were running almost constantly, and battery life took a significant hit as a result.

The issue appears to be related to Dropbox's syncing process, which seems to be using an excessive amount of CPU resources. Despite turning off Smart Sync and storing all files locally, I still found that Dropbox was consuming a minimum of 60% of my CPU usage. This is unacceptable and has made it difficult for me to use my laptop comfortably.

It appears that I am not the only one experiencing this issue. According to a notice from Dropbox, they are aware of a glitch in their software related to MacOS Monterey 12.3. However, rather than addressing the problem directly, they suggest opening up a ticket and going through a scripted series of steps to troubleshoot the issue.

This process is not only time-consuming but also frustrating. It's clear that Dropbox knows there is an issue with their software, but it seems they are not taking adequate steps to resolve it. As a result, I am considering looking for alternative cloud storage solutions that can provide a better experience.
